Copier Dealers Association Companies are Booming
Main / CEO Perspectives

I wanted to share a few updates on how companies in the Copier Dealers Association are doing.

I have written in the past about an industry group Fisher’s belongs to called the Copier Dealers Association. This is a group of 70 office technology companies around the country who are the best independent dealers in their markets. Fisher’s has learned a great deal from our peers in the group and I wanted to share a few updates on how the companies are doing.

Our collective revenue just passed $1B. That represented a 12.4% increase in revenue per dealer last year. This is a remarkable achievement, especially considering the market conditions. This proves that the Copier Dealers Association companies are executing on strategies that differentiate them in a positive way from their competitors (the traditional industry is shrinking as a whole).

CDA companies are also embracing new products and services much quicker and more successfully than the general market. Managed print services (the management of fleets of printers with the same levels of service and financial rigor that copiers are managed) is taking off in CDA dealers and generating a significant portion of their growth. Electronic document management and content management solutions are becoming a larger share of revenues in CDA dealers, something copier dealers have traditionally struggled to embrace.

Fisher’s is proud to be associated with this innovative, entrepreneurial, and successful collection of businesses and we continue to learn from them.
