Main / News

Facsimile-Based Multifunction LASER CLASS Line Delivers the Latest in Network Printing, Scanning and Send Capabilities to Small Offices and Workgroups

Expanding the role of the traditional office facsimile, Canon U.S.A., the overall brand leader in the U.S. copier marketi, today introduced the facsimile-based multifunction LASER CLASS 830i/810 models for high-volume offices and workgroups.

The flagship LASER CLASS 830i/810 devices deliver a single solution to empower most business workflows. The new LASER CLASS devices go beyond rich facsimile features to offer fast speeds of up to 45 images-per-minute (ipm)ii for scanning and 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized print and copying, as well as network printingiii, automatic duplex scanning and printing, and color sendingiv capabilities.

"The new Canon LASER CLASS 830i and 810 models have been designed to help facilitate increases in productivity when handling documents in both hard-copy and electronic formats," said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manger, Enterprise Systems Division, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "Beyond everyday faxing, the LASER CLASS 800 Series models can intelligently utilize an organization's existing network infrastructure to enable enhanced communications and document workflows, while providing ample security features to help protect confidential information."

System Highlights
Each LASER CLASS model offers Super G3 high-speed facsimile capabilities for maximum performance and reliability. With a 50-sheet Auto Duplexing Feeder and three second-per-page transmission ratev, documents can be sent quickly and easily - at sizes up to 11 X 17-inchesvi. For greater desktop productivity, facsimiles can be sent directly from a user's personal computer (optional on the LASER CLASS 810 model), saving time and the cost of consumables.

The new LASER CLASS models' fast scanning capability allows for the quick and efficient distribution of information and documents, while its multifunctionality provides convenient printing and copying of single or double-sized originals. The LASER CLASS 830i scans documents at up to 45 ipm, while the LASER CLASS 810 scans at up to 37 ipm (100/200 dpi, letter).

In addition, the LASER CLASS 830i model comes standard with Color Send feature. Single and double-sided documents can be scanned in at up to 600 dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution for sending TIFF, JPEG, PDF or PDF Compact formats to e-mail, I-fax, FTP and SMB destinations. Canon's PDF Compact technology reduces the file size of color documents for faster network transmission.

With support for Canon's proprietary Ultra Fast Rendering (UFR II LT) print technology, the LASER CLASS 830i models print through the USB 2.0 interface or integration with organization's existing network to print letter-sized documents at up to 23 ppm. Printing is optional on the LASER CLASS 810 models.

The LASER CLASS 800 Series come standard with a 500-sheet user-adjustable paper cassette that supports up to legal-sized paper and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray for handling various media types. Users can add a 500-sheet paper cassette to boost total capacity up to 1,100 sheets.

These new LASER CLASS models feature Job Forwarding and TX Archiving capabilities to help consolidate, redirect, and archive incoming and outgoing communications. The Job Forwarding feature automatically transmits incoming documents to other destinations for storing and the TX Archiving capabilities on the LASER CLASS 830i can automatically transmit outgoing data to I-fax, e-mail addresses, file servers and databases, as well.

The LASER CLASS 830i and 810 will be available through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Business Solutions at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $2,995 and $2,695, respectively.
