Canon's imageWARE Secure Audit Manager software provides a deterrent to information leaks as well as important tracking and accountability data for information sent to and from Canon-branded imageRUNNER devices. The application is ideal for government, legal, finance and education practices, as well as any business that handles sensitive information. Canon's imageWARE Secure Audit Manager is especially helpful to those organizations that must comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach Bliley, HIPAA, and other industry regulatory standards.

Canon's imageWARE Secure Audit Manager is a robust information security software solution that provides capture, archive and audit capabilities for Canon-branded device activities, enabling management to search archived databases of all hardcopy activities performed on Canon-branded devices such as print, scan, fax, copy and send jobs. In the event that leakage of important information does occur, crucial data including user ID, time/date, send/receive and a searchable record of what was sent can be easily searched and retrieved.

Today, companies and organizations are obligated to protect important information such as customer records, intellectual capital, financial documentation, and more. Canon's imageWARE Secure Audit Manager enables management to keep accurate records of all information sent to and from Canon MEAP enabled devices, Canon's Multifunction Embedded Application Platform. The information security market is flooded with solutions for soft information distribution like e-mail filtering and HTTP filtering/monitoring. However, until now, there was no solution for hard information distribution. Canon's imageWARE Secure Audit Manager is the first solution to provide hardcopy document distribution oversight.

The new imageWARE Secure Audit Manager captures all job log information, and text and image data of the hardcopy documents and files processed by compatible imageRUNNER models, providing a complete and detailed audit trail of all imageRUNNER device activities. After this information is captured, it is stored in a designated database where it can be readily searched using one of the three search features: image search, full text search and attribute search. With this solution, companies can reduce risks and liabilities associated with the leakage of important and closely held information.

Through the proprietary image detection software, the imageWARE Secure Audit Manager provides an Image Search function for hardcopy image transmissions from Canon devices. The function can search for any image that was printed, scanned, copied, faxed or sent within 360 degrees of correlation and stores calculated feature values of images and associates them with the originating document in the database.

The Full Text Search will search for any combination of words typed into the search menu, while the Attribute Search function allows management to query the archive database for document transmissions by device name, job log ID, IP address and more.

The software also includes functions such as Keyword Notification, which will automatically notify a designated administrator via e-mail whenever a pre-set keyword is detected in a copy, fax, scan, print, and any Canon Universal Send job. With this feature, the administrator(s) can be made aware of potential information leaks as they occur.

New imageWARE Secure Audit Manager will initially be made available through Canon's Professional Services organization during the third quarter of this year, with dealer distribution to follow shortly thereafter.
