Canon U.S.A. Introduces imageWARE Prepress Manager And imageWARE Print Job Manager Software To Enable Powerful And Flexible Production Workflows
Main / News

imageWARE Prepress Manager Enables Print Room Operators To Streamline Workflows Facilitating Cost Reductions And Optimal Use Of Resources

BOSTON, April 17, 2007 Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leading provider of office imaging systems, today introduced its imageWARE Prepress Manager and imageWARE Print Job Manager software packages enabling print room operators to better administer and manage the pre-press, printing and finishing workflow within their production printing environment. The imageWARE Prepress Manager and imageWARE Print Job Manager software will be on display at Canon's booth (#1400) during AIIM On Demand in Boston, April 16-19.

Canon's imageWARE Prepress Manager provides print shop operators with an intuitive software interface complete with detailed page layout viewing options. With support for detailed document imposition, registration marks, spine editing and binding options, imageWARE PrePress Manager makes job creation simple. Canon's imageWARE PrePress Manager is also ideal for supporting variable data applications, allowing users to easily define variable content on the page and link these areas to ODBC compliant database fields. With support for configurable hot folders, JDF, and its own Print Job Manager, imageWARE PrePress Manager can easily be configured to automate print shop workflow for delivery of production output to both Canon and non-Canon devices.

Once moved to the production phase, imageWARE Print Job Manager administers jobs including JDF Printing. Canon's imageWARE Print Job Manager provides print room operators with the software tools and functionality to manage multiple print jobs while actively monitoring queued jobs over multiple devices. All of this is accomplished via an intuitive, easy-to-use graphic interface from the user's workstation.

By integrating hard-copy and digital files into print-room operators' workflow environments, they can enhance on-demand publishing capabilities and reduce manual labor, helping realize greater cost savings.

"In today's on-demand printing market, average lead times and run lengths are shorter than ever, while customer expectations and job complexities continue to increase," said Dennis Amorosano, director and general manager, Solutions Business Development Division, Canon U.S.A. "As an industry leader, Canon understands the market's need for a simple, cost-effective software solution, and the imageWARE Suite of products continues Canon's commitment to delivering workflow solutions that increase efficiencies and productivity, while providing the ability to most effectively meet customer demands."
