Lanier Printers Receive Five BLI Spring 2007 Pick Of The Year Awards
Main / News

Lanier today announced that Buyers Laboratory (BLI) has named two Lanier color printers and three Lanier monochrome printers to its list of Spring 2007 "Picks of the Year."

In the small workgroup inkjet printer category, the Lanier GX5050N was chosen as the BLI "Pick" while the Lanier LP440C was named "Outstanding Large Workgroup Color Laser Printer." Also, the Lanier LP131n and the LP136n were both honored as "Picks" in the "Outstanding Mid-size Workgroup Monochrome Printer" category. Additionally, the Lanier LD016, tested in its SPF configuration, was named BLIs "Pick" in the monochrome legal-size Segment 1 Multifunctional Product (MFP) category.

The BLI "Pick of the Year" awards are presented semi-annually to the products that perform best in their respective categories throughout BLIs in-depth lab testing. All nominated devices are evaluated in several critical performance areas including reliability, image quality, productivity, print drivers, feedback to workstations, administrative utilities, ease of use, network setup, toner yield and cost of ownership.

Color Printers

The GX5050N printer uses GelSprinter technology, which provides the print quality of a laser printer with the affordability of inkjet. A budget-conscious workgroup printer, the GX5050N was honored for its ability to offer cost per page (CPP) that is among the

lowest for comparable inkjet printers and overall high-efficiency rates. BLI also noted features such as its ability to offer excellent feedback to users and its proprietary RPCS driver, which allows users to save settings under custom icons.

The Lanier LP440C is a versatile color laser printer solution that allows for affordable in-house production of professional-quality prints. Besides offering a flawless reliability performance, BLI selected the LP440C as a leading large workgroup color printer for its superior economy, thorough administrative and security utilities and admirable print image quality.

Monochrome Printers

The Lanier LP131n /LP136n are designed for small and mid-sized workgroups and serve as highly productive, yet economical desktop solutions. Through its testing, BLI commended the Lanier LP131n /LP136n for productivity and output quality, as well for offering higher than average toner yields, which translates to decreased downtime and lower cost per page. In addition, BLI noted that the two printers are easy to set-up and manage on the network, and offer excellent feedback to its users via Laniers advanced administrative utilities.

An all-in-one black-and-white system with a compact design, the Lanier LD016 enables users to manage nearly any document management task quickly and easily. The multifunctional device features standard copy, network print, scan and fax capabilities, as well as above average memory and paper capacities. During BLIs analysis, it proved to be highly reliable over the course of its durability test. BLI also found the Lanier LD016 to be user-friendly, highlighting the logically placed control panel keys and functionality.
