Corey Smith to help guide company's document systems strategy

SEPT. 8, 2006 -- Fishers Document Systems today announced that it has created the position of Vice President of Innovation to further the evolution of the business model it has embraced with the recent appointment of Christopher Taylor as CEO. The company further announced that it has appointed former sales manager Corey Smith to this new position.
Corey will be responsible for identifying and applying workflow management technologies that support our customers business objectives, said Taylor. His position as vice president of innovation is key to our companys evolution from a retail model based on copier sales to a more consultative model focused on document systems.
Smith joined Fishers in 2004 as the companys Information Technology Specialist. Prior to Fishers he was a color systems specialist for Canon USA and managed a territory of over 30 dealerships in 17 states. During his time with Canon he also developed innovative training programs in sales and color theory. Smith graduated with honors from University of Phoenix where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology.
Smiths primary focus in his new position will be the application of new document management technologies to the workflow processes of Fishers clients. IT professionals rarely look at the business impact of their decisions and business professionals rarely look at the IT impact of their decisions, Smith observed. My goal is to help companies merge these two perspectives so that everyone is supporting the same set of strategic business objectives.
