WHY BLOG?
Main / Gary Mahn's Thoughts

For those of you that regularly come to the Fisher's website, you are familiar that some of our team members, particularly our CEO, like to blog and do a pretty good job at it. I've never done it. So, as I commence my blogging journey, the first question is, "What is my topic?" A number of thoughts entered my mind, but, I settled on "Why Blog?" What would blogging, by me, accomplish? Being a fairly optimistic guy, I decided not to recite all the reasons why I shouldn't blog and there are many, but, rather, give some serious thought as to WHY I SHOULD BLOG.

After nearly 40 years slugging it out in the business world – all of it in the Treasure Valley, I do have a few observations and opinions that 1) will make me feel good to write them down and 2) might be of interest to a blog surfer. So…..periodically, I will use this forum as a “journal” to capture a thought that passes through this 64 ½ year old mind. I’ve heard that journaling is therapeutic, so, if nothing else, maybe I’ll feel better, hence, I have now answered the question: WHY I SHOULD BLOG?

Re:WHY BLOG?
Gary,

I am posting on behalf of the many anonymous blog-surfers out there.

Access to knowledge is what we need to make the right decisions for ourselves and a necessary component to our successes. The web has reduced the time and space constraints of gaining access to this knowledge, but what remains is the sourcing problem: where can knowledge that is worth having be found? This is where you must step in!

With the problem of geography still in my way, i eagerly await your next blog to capture some of your thoughts.

best regards
rabih
