Fisher's Announces New Black-And-White Canon Printers
Main / News

Canon imagePress Printers bring new black-and-white printing technology to Boise, Idaho.

Building upon the success of its industry leading black-and-white printing technologies and award-winning imagePRESS line, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in document imaging and office solutions, introduced the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printer at Graph Expo (Booth #3000).

These extraordinary new monochrome production presses, first previewed at AIIM On Demand earlier this year, were designed based on the core architecture of the imagePRESS line and use technologies from Canon's revolutionary black-and-white printing solutions to deliver uncompromising image and text quality, productivity and versatility.

Designed to offer a high-quality, affordable, digital black-and-white printing solution while increasing profitability and productivity, the Canon imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printers can be custom configured with various finishing options at engine speeds of up to 135 pages-per-minute (ppm), 125 ppm and 110 ppm, respectively.I With a true resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi) and 256 tonal graduations, the new imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 offers customers the ability to tailor their presses to meet their specific printing needs without compromising, quality or desired speeds.

"Since its brand introduction in 2005, the imagePRESS line has set the standard for color image quality and productivity in the digital production printing market. We have taken those same high standards and applied it to our black-and-white printing technologies," said Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "These new models give customers a press that not only produces precise halftone images, sharp text and dense blacks, but also provides them with a system that will seamlessly integrate into their current workflow, be extremely productive and enhance their profitability."

To ensure every piece of every job maintains the highest image quality with minimal user oversight, the Canon imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printer has a remarkable paper capacity of up to 14,000 sheetsII, and incorporates twin-sleeve technology that substantially improves the uniformity of the toner and guarantee that the densities remain consistent throughout the job. With the ability to load paper and toner on the fly, and even run un-attended, the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printer will help make printing environments more productive and profitable.

All models of the new Canon imagePRESS printers have an option for advanced feeding technologies such as Suction Feeding and Enhanced Air Assist, which uses air instead of rollers to feed paper, helping to ensure consistent feeding and uptime. For users who require advanced archival needs, the image PRESS 1135/1125/1110 printers come with an optional Duplex Color Reader, which will simultaneously scan both sides of a document in color and automatically save it, creating a digital archive directly on the imagePRESS.

Expanding the possibilities of the imagePRESS Black-and-White Models
Recognizing that businesses also need critical software solutions in addition to a high-quality press, Canon's imagePRESS Workflow Solutions complements the imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printer. Canon is working closely with Objectif Lune and RSA, providers of transaction printing solutions, to help customers seamlessly integrate the new imagePRESS digital presses into their mission-critical environments. This expanded relationship will help drive productivity and versatility for customers, enabling increased functionality such as subset finishing.

In addition, Canon offers a variety of printing control options, which allows printing environments to create an imagePRESS that directly meets their production needs. The imagePRESS Printer Kit A-1 is offered for consumers who are looking for basic level graphic processing, and imagePRESS J100/200 servers are available for printing environments that require additional power, performance and processing speeds. Finally, Canon also offers the EFI MicroPress print controller, which is a versatile, document-production system that empowers in-plant print shops and CRDs, to efficiently produce short runs of more complex documents, including those that combine black-and-white and color pages.III

The Canon imagePRESS 1135/1125/1110 printer is expected to be launched by the end of Q1 2009 and will be available through authorized Canon U.S.A dealers with a manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) not anticipated to exceed $111,000 for the 1135 model, $92,000 for the 1125 and $80,000 for the of the 1110 modelIV.
